Hello students & friends,
week four definitely made us PIVIOT in a new direction :)
Here's a quick recap of some things that we did, and the new conditioning exercises:
- We took the Releve' exercises that we do in Bare-feet and we added the BLOCK.
- We looked at a 2 foot to 1 foot eccentric exit WITH THE BLOCK
- We looked at single ankle raises
We reviewed :
point through the shoe
pivot point vs lip
undercutting and staking ti help stand up and create a level change .
This class was introduced three different "twisting direction changes" while explore the outside edge of the shoe.
we talked about how when you initiate the twist is important because if you do it too soon and reach too far, it'll take you into a spin to the floor. However, we also looked at what happens in that spin to the floor and talked about how we roll through the front outside edge of the shoe to help us with this dissent. We briefly looked at using the legs on the pool as we lifted one of the legs out of the way of the other to avoid the heel affect on the floor, and then push the legs into the pole to roll out, gracefully but powerfully to our Belly.
We looked at the basic way to stand however, it was not easy the way that we stood up also worked on undercutting staking and pushing the floor away from us, not in an up action, but as in a forward to back action creating opposition. I reminded you all about how opposition gives us strength and stability. Otherwise we are balancing..
We ended by putting everything together into a short sequence, walking around the room, looking at our stripper, skip and drunk and stumble, and taking it to the Pole to do our three levels of our twisting direction change, then taking it to the floor in a spin as we work through our legs on the base of the pole to roll us out to our Bellei pulling back to our knees and then working on our basic stand using undercutting staking opposition, pushing and pulling.
Next week is the last week of this f part series..... now we put it all together :)
