Here's a quick recap of some things that we did, and the new conditioning exercises:
- Some basic balance, work standing
- Primal squats with The Pole to work on Dorsey flexion
- Towle crunches to strengthen the toes
- An introduction to Releve' standing, parallel, first position and Releve' to single calf release focusing on the eccentric Motion.
- Ball balances below the ankle, bone and above.
We reviewed drawing, clacking, the basic arch posture, & ankle stability in a straight leg backward shoulder roll.
Then we took a deep dive into more detailed edge work, and the idea of "Masking". We looked at the relation between sickling, an internal rotation and winging and external rotation. We took off the shoes and worked through a basic seated, straddle roll drill, and then put on the shoes and noticed what we called "The Heel affect", and how that changed everything. The Masking required us to lift our hips to get up and around the front edge of the shoe to transfer from inside to outside edge smoothly.
Then we looked at a traveling, seated straddle roll. Again focusing on where we wanted to sickle versus where we want to wing.
We discussed how sometimes 1 foot is doing one thing, while the other foot is doing the other, and it is crucial to pay attention to the small details.
We ended with putting a week one Content and weeks two content together for you to experiment in any order that you like.
